Does A Local Parish Council Need A Flood Barrier?

Does a local Parish Council need a Flood Barrier?

Is there a West Dorset local council that needs a mobile flood barrier?

Burton Bradstock Parish Council has an Alteau mobile flood barrier, which unfortunately cannot be used effectively on our local river and flood-prone areas.

We are keen to pass it on to a local parish council who may be able to use it.

The Alteau Barrier is manufactured from 610g and 450g polyethylene fabric. By using the force of the water the Alteau Barrier rises automatically up to a maximum height of one metre and lengths of several hundred metres. Particularly designed for and used by rapid response emergency services it is a portable, self-inflating, reusable water barrier and as such it does not need any external power source or pre inflation.

It can be installed in minutes by two people and can be easily packed and reused for a different application by hosing down and rolling up.

The portable barrier can be transported by small vehicles to the intended site, then handled in a two-person lift. More details on the product here

Any parish council interested is asked to contact the Clerk, Lesley Windsor, at theclerk@burtonbradstockparishcouncil.org
